Everyday I notice something that I feel could benefit an individual, group or process. I find myself forgetting to take note of my observations — eventually losing sight of what I initially thought. Therefore, in an attempt to manipulate modern day individuals to do things, one, like myself and two, things I believe would help not only them but people around them, I am creating a list of things I want everyone to go do.. right now!
These items are in no way prioritized, they all share an equal amount of weight in my book, however, make sure you do one or two of them a day. I promise they will make your life a little easier and put a huge smile on my pretty little face.
- Register a gravatar
Why? Because gravatars are neat and nifty. They create another method for identification. For instance, on my website when I’m skimming through comments, I associate emotions with gravatars. Per se, when I notice a gravatar I associated with someone I dislike, I skip their comment. Kidding! Gravatar’s service is just great! It creates a unique approach to all sorts of things. It takes your email address, attaches it to an image, hosted on their server and bam, you’re done. Now go do it at gravatar.com.
- Stay up-to-date with your reads
Currently, feed readers for rss feeds exist in the hundreds, if not thousands. There are applications, services, websites, etc for reading feeds. Use one! Personally, I’m an enormous fan of bloglines. It enables me to use my great copy and paste skills to populate a few fields, click submit and I instantaneously am granted the ability to read all of my favorite websites on one page. Its a known fact, most popular blogs receive the most traffic from feed readers such as bloglines. Just goto google and type feedreader, experiment, play, toy or whatever else you consider to be your evaluation process and find something that works for you.
- Interact with people
Blogging is not a difficult task. At times though, some authors, including myself get a little down and out when people don’t interact with my silly ideas. I am definitely not asking everyone to leave ten thousand comments. But if you have an opinion, any opinion, let people know. Share your thoughts, no matter how goofy they may be, someone might enjoy it. If they don’t, they will be sure to let you know, I can assure you of that. Interaction between visitors is great! Don’t just leave stupid comments thought. Make sure your comment has a point. Its fun to reference inside jokes and such, just don’t get out of hand and leave a comment like “ha ha” and be done with it. Only I am allowed to do that :)
This list will continue to grow. I’m not planning on ammending the list over time, continuing one individual post such as this one. Over time, depending on how many listed items I can come up with, I might migrate the links to a page of its own.
In the mean time, don’t just sit around, close this window and do nothing. Do something as I advised above. Go get a gravvy, setup blog lines, leave a comment on a friends site — do something useful maggot!
