David Peralty of davidcubed.com has decided to provoke me into discussing what blogging has given me.

As a blogger, the oppurtunity to reflect and share the material and non-material rewards from such ventures is interesting.  This discussion may seem like bragging, I agree with David in hoping that these threads inspire individuals to keep writing and reap similar rewards.  Blogging can be a career, David is 100% proof of that concept.

So basically the intention is to find out what people have gotten from blogging. It doesn’t necessarily have to be a material possession, it can be something like a new job, or a reference in your community, or simply a personal achievement.

Blogging is my chance to discuss topics I find interesting and solicit others’ opinions.  It has allowed me to interact and meet with lots of other bloggers and discuss why it is we do, what we do.  I definitely do not consider my blogging patterns to be a career, however, it has given me numerous rewards.

It has assisted me with ideas, an environment where I can test my theories and create best practices.  It has given me a medium for sharing things that I have with other individuals.

It also has helped me obtain the following:

  1. GMC Yukon Denali
  2. Apple MacBook Notebook
  3. Nikon D50 DSLR
  4. Apple iPod Nano 8GB Black with iHome
  5. Mounds and Mounds of clothing.
  6. Assist others in setting up their own blogs
  7. It even pays some bills….

Blogging has not been about the rewards, they’re merely perks of being successful at something.  Personally, I still rate myself extremely low on the charts for what many consider professional bloggers.  I’m just a successful small guy :)  Thanks for the tag David.

I’m curious what blogging has given Vince Chan, Ben Gillbanks, John Thomas, and Thomas “TwisterMC”?
