As a resident of Oklahoma, our state turning 100 years was a big deal. We celebrated for a week; if not longer. In order to properly align our states goals, missions and objectives with those of our current present day time, the website 100IdeasOK.org website was established. Although there are some great ideas posted on the website, OkieDoke launched an alternative, Okie100.org. I’m personally a big fan of it. Give it a visit and post anything you find useful. I’ll be keeping my eyes open!

Wednesday, May 30, seemed to be another ordinary day here on the blogosphere, at least in my world. However, it seems Tulsa’s very own KOTV, a local CBS affiliate on local channel 6 decided otherwise. A story posted on their website about a lightning strike in Oklahoma City at a petroleum refinery caused oil prices later that day to spark upwards more than forty cents!

Here is an excerpt from the CNET article:

At 10:14 EDT, CBS affiliate KOTV reported that a lightning strike had caused a fire at an Oklahoma refinery–sparking a flurry of excitement among energy traders and boosting U.S. crude prices 40 cents.

Personally, my history with KOTV has not been the best. They have made a few major reporting claims that were inaccurate, but hey they’re the press and I respect them for their efforts. Regardless of who makes an error, a simple mis-communication or typo can cause misfortune and repercussions for more people than you might realize. Guess it just goes to show, add another tally to reason, but good research and investigation pays off in the end.

The internet is at no shortage of hosting providers. Everyday multiple hosts seem to pop-up on the world’s connected community and attempt to target a specific niche of customers. Personally, I believe that most of the hosts have zero goals, zero ability to gain user attention and specifically zero support. However, a company that has started with a great level of support, a wonderful niche and great services is buyhttp.com. They offer reseller hosting accounts which would allow you, a single user the ability to resell services to your friends and clients.

As a developer and a designer, I’m constantly asked, “what do I do about hosting?” Often, I inform my clients that I can host them myself, but I am unable to offer the level of support that many of them require and rely upon. This is where buyhttp.com really comes to mind! They’re able to provide support services to help you install, configure and manage mambo, wordpress and other open-source software platforms. In fact, they specialize in users of the open source community.

BuyHTTPIf you are looking for Joomla, Wordpress, Ecommerce, Managed CMD, semi-dedicated or fully-dedicated hosting solutions, buyhttp.com has what you need. Check ‘em out. Sign up for a reseller account, worst case — you have fully redundant, stable and affordable hosting that you could possibly make a little profit from.. what have you got to lose?

Feeling lucky, winning a prize or being given something grand is a feeling often not experienced by most people. Unfortunately, the odds are always against you in winning anything that has multiple individuals seeking, however, with whogets.com at least you have a fair chance. The online sweepstakes website was setup to give their users their opportunity to win a special prize, ranging from $10.00USD to $600.00USD.
